To safeguard all students under the age of 18 attending our schools, we require all accompanying group leaders to have had a background or police check prior to arriving at our schools.
This requirement is obligatory under British Council accreditation criteria for our UK schools but we also extend this to all schools as best practice and compliance with our Child Safeguarding policy.
Currently, we usually only require confirmation from the agency that a check has been carried out, but please note that LAL may request a copy of the check as well as an official or notarised translation in English of the content of the check.
If you are accompanying the students to the school yourself, then we will require the copy of your document as well as a notarised translation.
Checks are valid for up to 2 years from date of issue. The check must be valid for the complete stay of the leader. If you sent this last year, you will have to re-send it as we delete this data from our database.
Before electronically signing this declaration, if you have the document as a pdf file, the document can be downloaded at the same time.
This data will maintained on a secure database by LAL and access will only be given to operational managers and authorised external bodies, according to legal and accreditation compliance.
LAL will hold this data until 30 days after the departure of the group leader. At that point, the data will be deleted from the database.
